So recently i got into a bit of trouble and was suspended for five days because i took another student's prescription Adderall so that i could study and take a test without being tired. I was suspended and given a evidentiary hearing where my punishment is suppose to be given. Has anyone have this problem and what do you think my punishment would be?

They take grades into account and I'm ranked 6th in my class with grades averages around 98-100, this is my first offense =\

The administrator said these are my possible outcomes:
1. Alternative/Juvenile School
2. Back to original school with 1 semester probation
3. SKIP Program (which is a rehab program) and back to school no probation
4. Expulsion

So what do you think willl happen? My hearing is tomorrow, I appreciate the help =]

.No one here knows your school, your background or the districts procedures.

We have only heard one part of the story and do not know your disciplinary background.

I know that it is difficult but you will just have to wait and see until tomorrow.

The school will probably allow you to have present an advocate or an attorney. That would be desirable. Speak to your parents about that.

I’m having dificulty in choosing schools. I want to major in Accounting and Finance.

Don’t just take people’s opinions here. Use the gold standard Business Week rankings for undergraduate business schools for your guide to the best colleges in finance and accounting:

I work so hard in all of my honors classes and I never ever get noticed or appreciated for it, school wise. I receive straight A's in about 6-7 honors courses a year with honors electives in my high school and I only get ranked at 63, while people in way lower classes than me that do not perform well receive ranks such as 30-50. That upsets me to highest extent. I am even going to get pre-accounting certified next year through my school and I am only a junior; that is how well I perform, yet I receive absolutely nothing.

How does this make sense?
What should I do?
I cannot stand this anymore.

*I do not care if anything is spelled wrong, I am very upset.
Students in lower level classes receive awards for being in the top 10% and I get nothing. I never even reached the top 10% yet I perform more outstanding than almost everyone in my grade and school and have had more honors courses than numerous amounts of students, with practically all A's in all of them, and I receive nothing AT ALL.

I cannot wait for college, the real education…I hope.
To Steve: It is very aggravating to know that nothing at all will go down on your record to show for your hard work. Apparently you have never worked hard for anything; anyone that has would understand the feeling.
You people are asinine. *You know who you are…you need acknowledgements for college. Work hard for what? Nothing?

I can understand where you're coming from. At my school, they reward the people who go from a 2.0GPA to a 3.0GPA in a semester, but they don't award the people who've had a 4.0GPA all year. It's because the school feels that the kids performing well will be able to keep performing well without encouragement, and the ones that are doing bad are the ones that need help.

I do agree with Steve a bit, though. You shouldn't dedicate your life to being acknowledged for doing well academically. You'll get much more fulfillment from interacting with other people. I don't think it's fair to attack him and automatically assume that he's never given his all for something. I work hard and I don't get acknowledged for my work; however, I don't care. I don't need someone else to tell me that I am doing well.

EDIT: By your new details, are you saying I don't work hard? I have a 4.0GPA and I'm a cheerleader. I also participate in drama, choir, newspaper and am currently writing the first book of my four-book series (I'm on the second chapter of the first book). How can you accuse me of not working hard?

It is obvious to me now that you're just an asshole who is trying to vent on people. Like I said, I understand how frustrating it is to not be rewarded for your work, but it's extremely pathetic to not be in control of your own emotions and have to yell at people, which only makes you look stupid because you obviously have no clue what you're talking about. Making people feel bad won't help you at all, so why do it?

If you're worried about acknowledgments for college, participate in another activity to get what you need. Being on the school newspaper is very impressive for colleges, as well as participating in sports and clubs; you can also increase your chances of getting into college by doing community service and volunteering.

So i go to a kinda different high school. So my high school is ranked in the top 50 in the US and someone with all As in our neighboring school get all Cs when they come to our school. Netherless to say my gpa is not all that spactacular probably about a 3.83 weighted. I was wondering if collages would take different high schools into account.

They will take it into account if they understand how tough your school is. Ask your guidance counselor to send them a letter explaining how your school is different. I’m guessing a lot of students at your school are college-bound, so you are not the only one worried about this- your school probably has ways of explaining all of this to admissions departments, so don’t worry. Remember how lucky you are to have gotten such a great high school education, and to be so well prepared for college!

My situation:
2001-2002: Freshmen business student at a state school, poor grades nothing above a C.
2002-2007: Left college and joined the Army, served two tours in Iraq.
2007-Present: Graduating from community college, AS in Business Admin, high honors, transferring to a different state school as an accounting major.

I would like to go straight from undergrad to grad school, I feel as though I can offset my poor early performance with a high GPA and GMAT score around 700. I would like to attend a decently ranked program for one of the three: MAcc, MS Taxation, or MBA w/ Accounting concentration….
When I mean straight from undergrad this would be AFTER earning my BS in Accounting from the state school….

It certainly is.

If I were looking at your application, I’d completely ignore that freshman year. You’ve obviously come out of the Army highly motivated.

You must get your B.S. or B.A. degree in something relevant and then you should go directly to business school. (If you meant go directly to grad school from community college without a Bachelor’s degree, that won’t work.)

Give my university’s school a shot … The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Tough and worth it.
